We had a lovely autumn recital a couple of weeks ago. All the students did just a great job playing their pieces...and more importantly, conquering their nerves and fears. We are so proud of all of them!! Enjoy some pictures and a video of the recital.

We had a wonderful spring recital in my backyard a little over a week ago. The weather was beautiful. All of the students played so well. I love seeing each of them conquer their fears and perform in front of a group of people! All the students have all been working hard to learn Christmas duets. It has been such a fun experience learning to play with other kids. The videos will be posted on Facebook over the next couple of weeks, so make sure you follow Conrad Music Studio on Facebook so you don't miss any of them! Merry Christmas!!
Everyone did a wonderful job performing in the spring recital this year! It was fun to see how much everyone has improved over the past year! Looking forward to another fun year of learning!
Here are three things that I have been loving recently: musical Twister, a recital practice chart, and new strings! :D Musical Twister is such a fun game to review notes on a staff. If you have ever played regular Twister, you know how easy it is to get your arms and legs tangled up and end up falling over with laughter! The kids had that much fun with this homemade musical version. The staff is electrical tape on a shower curtain and the spinner (I found on Amazon) is stuck to the front of a clear CD case, so the insides can be changed depending on what game we are playing. (Eventually, I would like a more durable grand staff mat, but this works for now.)
Performing in a recital can be a very nerve-wracking activity. But with the correct preparation, you can play confidently…and calmly! The key is preparation. The more ready you are for the recital, the better you will feel playing. Here are some tips to help you prepare.
I am so excited for our upcoming Spring Recital! The date and time are finalized and the students are working hard at polishing their pieces. We are teaming together with the students of Mrs. Kathi Pope and Mrs. Gina Zverev. Directions to First Baptist Church can be found at FBCRockford.org.
