Violin Lessons
|
Violin is a beautiful instrument and take patience and motivation to get good at playing it, but it is well-worth the effort. We strive to make learning the violin fun and enjoyable, while pushing the students to be successful. Violin lessons are 30- or 45-minute solo lessons once a week. Lessons are individualized to the student's goals and are full of fun and learning.
When are the violin lessons? Lessons are on Monday-Thursdays after school. |
Do I need a violin at home?
Yes, properly-sized, good sounding violin is required for violin lessons. We can help you find a violin to rent or buy if needed. Unfortunately, most cheap violins are what are know as a "VSO" (violin-shaped object) and make learning to play very difficult.
How much practice is necessary?
This depends on the level and age of the student, and how fast they want to progress. The most important thing is that practice happens every day and that weekly assignments are completed. That said this is how long it will normally take to practice what I assign:
Student Recitals:
Getting to share music with others is one of the best parts of learning to play an instrument! We hold two recitals every year, which all students are welcome to perform in. Shy students are welcome to just come and watch, We never push a student to perform if they don’t want to.
What type of music can I learn?
We teach any and all genre’s of music that a student wants to learn. Nothing is off the menu!
Although some classical music is generally necessary for good progress to be made, you are by no means limited to classical. Our students learn pop, jazz, blues, punk, and rock – if the student loves the music that’s all that matters to me.
TUITION FEES
For your convenience, there are two payment options, by the semester or by the month.
Feel free to get in touch with me here if you have any questions.
