Piano Lessons for Kids
|
Piano Lessons are 30 or 45 minutes once a week packed with learning and fun. Kids progress quickly as they learn to feel, create, and read music. These lesson are great for students ages 5-14 years old.
What happens during piano lessons? Students spend time working one-on-one with the teacher focusing on technique, rhythm, improvisation, music reading, practicing skills, and playing music theory games. When are the piano lessons? Lessons are on Monday-Thursdays after school. |
Do I need a piano at home?
You definitely need some kind of a practice instrument.
How much practice is necessary?
This depends on the level and age of the student, and how fast they want to progress. The most important thing is that practice happens every day and that weekly assignments are completed. Here is a general guideline for different levels:
Student Recitals:
Getting to share music with others is one of the best parts of learning to play an instrument! We hold two recitals every year, which all students are welcome to perform in. Shy students are welcome to just come and watch. Students are never pressured to perform if they do not want to perform.
What type of music can I learn?
Any and all genre’s of music that you want to learn. Nothing is off the menu!
Although some classical music is generally necessary for good progress to be made, you are by no means limited to classical. Our students learn pop, jazz, blues, punk, and rock – if the student loves the music, that’s all that matters.
TUITION FEES
For your convenience, tuition is divided into flat monthly payments.

For your convenience, tuition is divided into flat monthly payments.
- Monthly payments are to be made on or before the 1st lesson of every month. Payments are considered late after the 10th of the month. Late payments will incur a $10 late fee.
- The monthly payment amount is divided evenly between 12 months from July to June inclusive. This means that it doesn’t matter if there are 5 or 2 lessons in a given month, the tuition fee is exactly the same. If the teacher need to cancel a lesson, she will either use one of her flex weeks; offer a makeup lesson; or give you a refund for the lesson. If a student cancels a lesson, he/she misses the benefit of the lesson.
- Payments cover the cost of tuition and the books that are assigned during lessons.
